Classrooms
The airy and spacious classrooms are well
designed, subject oriented with plenty of
natural light and ventilation that can
comfortably accommodate 50 students with
ample working space.
Library
The school library is a very comfortable and
ideal platform for self study, it also has a
treasure of a variety of resource materials
like journals, magazines, computer software
etc. which enhance each student’s growth
process.

Laboratories
The school has well equipped laboratories
for different streams of sciences with
excellent facilities for practical work. The
children will get hands on practical
experience, which will complement the
theoretical knowledge.
Boarding House
The newly build boarding house of the
academy is nestled in a spacious garden. The
House Master in-charge of the boarding is
assisted by a matron in looking after the
children round the clock. The Matron is
further assisted by experienced staff to
help provide a home away from home feel.
There are separate dormitories for boys and
girls. The School Medical Officer visits the
Academy periodically for a routine check-up
of the students. However his services may be
utilized any time whenever so required.
The hostel has a recreation room where
facilities such satellite TV, World-Space
Radio and other sources of indoor
entertainment are available for children to
avail in their free time.

FOOD
The Academy believes in the organic way of
living and the food cooked in the hostel
mess is grown in the campus free of any
pesticides and chemical fertilizers. It is
not only most wholesome and nutritious but
is also prepared under the direct
supervision of a qualified person. The food
served is vegetarian and the meal are
supervised and shared by the teachers,
house-master and matron.
HEALTH
A good health is prerequisite of a good
education. Children must be physically fit
in order to derive full benefits of a
creative curriculum. For this they are
required to produce a medical certificate at
the time of admission in the hostel.
Even though medical check up is a routine
affair, parents are intimated of special
ailments of their respective wards. In an
emergency the Principal will have the
authority to authorise any special treatment
or surgical procedure for any student and
the consent of the parent or guardian will
be considered implied. It is a matter of
genuine satisfaction that Dehra Dun is well
endowed with reliable physicians and
doctors. All such expenses shall be borne by
the parents.
House System
To foster healthy competition, team spirit,
leadership and fair play, all students of
the school are divided into four Houses (viz
Barbet, Oreole, Minivet & Verditer). Each
House is headed by one student known as
House Captain who is assisted by a
Vice-Captain and some Prefects. One teacher,
assisted by a few other teachers, is
appointed to oversee the House activities.
Points are awarded to the students
throughout the year for their performance in
academics, cultural, literary and sports
activities, discipline and behaviour and the
House getting the highest marks is adjudged
the Best House of the Year. The student
appointees of each House are also
responsible for maintaining discipline on
the school premises.
VACATIONS
The Academy remains closed for about two
months in summer ( mid May to mid July) and
one month ( mid Dec. to mid Jan.) in winter.
Boarders are not supposed to stay back
during these holidays in the hostel as the
members of the staff are equally entitled to
go on their earned leave during these
vacations.
Parents of foreign and overseas students are
advised to see that their wards are
possessed of valid passports and other
necessary documents to enable their children
to leave the academy as soon as the holidays
begin. Parents/ guardians are further
advised to deposit the travel documents of
their children with the house master of the
boarding house so that necessary
arrangements for journey by air , rail or
sea for vacations may be made by the
principal.
Parents are requested to confirm at least
two months before the commencement of the
holidays that they have not changed their
address. All expenses pertaining to the
travelling of their wards are required to be
deposited in the office by the parents at
least two months before the start of the
vacations.
Sports
& Adventures
Sports and games form an integral part
of learning at the academy. While PT in the
morning and games in the evening are part of
daily routine, the sprawling campus includes
all manner of sporting activities (cricket,
football, tennis, basketball etc) for the
all-round participation and development of
sporting enthusiasm.
The location
of the school at the foothills of Shiwaliks
provides ample opportunities. We have on our
staff some avid outdoor men under whose
careful supervision trekking, hiking,
adventure sports and an appreciation for the
great outdoor is inculcated in students and
pursued by those with aptitude. |
