Entrance Examination
The school conducts an entrance examination
for children seeking admission to Dehradun
Hills Academy. These entrance examinations
are conducted well before the commencement
of the new academic session. The dates on
which these entrance examinations will be
conducted are communicated well in advance
by the school admissions office to the
parents of children seeking admission.
Offers for admissions will be made on the
basis of the results of these examinations
and will depend on the number of vacancies
in each class.
Entrance Examination Exemption
The school also has a provision of direct
offer of admission to children with a proven
academic record in their old school. For
parents who wish to apply for an entrance
examination exemption and seek direct
admission for their ward, it is essential
that they enclose the last two years report
cards and supporting
certificates/testimonials. On receipt of the
application, the school will revert with an
offer of admission if the School Admissions
Committee approves the application.
Overseas Applicants
In the case of overseas applicants an offer
of admission is made on the basis of the
previous academic performance of the child.
Parents of overseas applicants must provide
documentary and duly attested evidence to
the school that the child has obtained the
desired level of academic excellence. The
school requires details of the academic
record of the student, current mark sheets
and a letter of recommendation from a
teacher. The admissions committee of the
school will subsequently offer admission to
students who fulfill the stringent admission
criteria of the school. Once the offer of
admission has been made, foreign nationals
would need to contact their local Indian
Embassy/Consulate along with the letter of
admission to obtain a student visa which is
essential for studying in India.
Admission to class XI:
Please note the
following:
Dehra Dun Hills Academy is affiliated to the
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE),
New Delhi.
Technically a ICSE Class X candidate, or one
from any other board, subject to his results
and approval of the board, can join a CBSE
School if the school is able to admit him.
Normally at DDHA, we do not have more than a
few seats for outside candidates in class XI
and therefore do not open advance
registration. Interested parents may contact
the school by post after the Class X board
results are out and if there are any
vacancies we will advise accordingly when we
are able to assess your application against
others which may have been received and
keeping in mind vacancies that may then
exist.
Apart from academics we look at the present
Principal's recommendation of the candidate,
his record of conduct, his games, extra and
co- curricular activity record and his
potential to be able to fit in with the
school's ethos.
